Let’s Give a Dam!

This project was for a Global Engineering Class. In Govan, there is an increasing number of people in fuel poverty. This means that they are forced to make a decision between paying for heat or paying for food. In order to combat this, my team and I have devised a plan to build a small-scale dam to harness hydroelectric power and provide a long-term boost to the fuel economy in Govan. I focused on understanding the benefits and shortcomings of hydropower. This concept is one 2022 finalist winners of the Engineering for People Design Challenge USA. Learn more here:
